If you have been practicing bhakti and want to go deeper in your practice and have an ashram experience, but have a busy schedule and can only get away for a weekend or a week at a time, Gita Nagari has the program for you! Come stay with us for a weekend and learn about and live the lifestyle of a Bhakti yoga practitioner.
Gita Nagari is situated on 350 acres of beautiful farm land and nature, and is bounded by the Tuscarora Creek. We are home to 20 joyful volunteers, herds of peaceful cows/oxen, 1 goat, a flock of about 40 peacocks, and an adorable cat named Gopi. We have beautiful accommodations, delicious food, and a diverse community of bhakti yoga practitioners in the surrounding area.

Gita Nagari has unlimited opportunities to offer seva (selfless service). Activities include gardening, working with the cows, helping in the kitchen, cleaning the temple & other spaces, tending Tulsi, and bee keeping.
Join us every Saturday evening for kirtan (congregational music meditation) with the broader community in our beautiful loft space with a wide range of traditional Indian instruments and Western instruments (base, violin, keyboard, etc.)
Our Sunday Open House is two more hours of kirtan with joyful singing and dancing.
